What is the Writing Contest About?
Many railway companies sprouted across America and Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries. Some of these lasted for years, trailblazing into the 19th century, whiles other vanished into the pages of history. Who founded them and why? What was it like to travel aboard these ‘iron horses’?
Why did they fade away, and what mysteries and ghost stories are related to them? This contest is looking for writers who know about these rails and can share their factual stories. Provide credible answers to readers.
As you tell your story, we hope to find trails and tours built around these railways. Are people traveling to these ruins? Are there mystery sightings or inexplicable encounters?
