The Code – New Science Fiction Short Story

Zach sat in the comfortable executive chair, threw his legs upon the desk, leaned back until the seat loomed over the floor, interlaced his fingers behind his head, and smiled.  Tomorrow would be that day, the one they thought would never come. Yet they have all labored and toiled hoping that it would happen. Here it was, eight hours away.

He smiled at his partner and engineer, Kyra Gilead. She had been resilient and tireless. She was the muscles and he was the brains. Whatever he could write, she could make it happen. It has been nine days and four hours since they last went home, even though it didn’t matter. They were both single and lived with their parents.

He never doubted her for one minute. She was a nerd with thick glasses, and strong muscles, and, even when she had worn a wet t-shirt for the ball bubble, no one noticed her. He only noticed how brilliant she was and how she could convert informatical theories into substance.

He worked beside her for more than ten months on this project and never felt the urge to touch her triangular tits that seem to burst through her shirt. Maybe because she acted more masculine with a bounce rather feminine with a flow and grace.

He was tall, dark, and handsome, but never had the guts to say more than hello to a girl. There was his neighbor who used to come on so strongly on him, she would touch his stomach, and even once a lot closer to his manhood. She would visit him on weekend nights wearing only a bikini and even lay down on his bed at times. He never got beyond hello, the homework, and the goodbyes.

“Kyra, how would you like to celebrate? I mean, what’s on your mind? Would you like to go get dressed and we go dancing over at Toot’s, or we can just get some stuff and sit it out till the morning?”

‘I do not want to go anywhere. I want to take a shower and sleep until tomorrow.’ She smiled at him and raised a muscular arm to her chin. She did look attractive there and then, except for the glasses.

‘We can shower here, as we have done these days. But, do you feel sleepy?’ he turned on the chair and looked at her. He noticed that the top button of her blouse was open. ‘No urge to celebrate, not even a little. Come on K, you just made history. It is not every day that we do that.’

‘I am sorry, Zach, but I just want to shower, maybe then I will feel a bit different.’ She pulled her blouse off leaving just her bra and leaned down to undo her boots. She had done this all week before him. Just as she had seen it done in the army movies. ‘Care to help me with my pants, tonight?’

The Code – Getting Inside The Machine

Zach got up and started pulling her pants off. Kyra burst into laughter. She giggled and pointed at his pants. He looked down, turning red. He was 21 years old and this had never happened to him.  He stared at her and without replying pulled the other leg of her pants off.

She sat up suddenly, letting her arms fall loosely around his neck. His arms came up behind her and removed the thick, reading glasses. Their lips met, and for the first time in their lives, they understood that they were perfect for each other.

After showering together, they got dressed and agreed to run the test once more before sleeping.  Kyra was only wearing an open shirt and Zach only wore his boxer.  Both placed the digital call receptor on their hands and then walked away in separate directions. When they were about twenty-five feet apart, Kyra lifted the receptor to her mouth and said:

‘Mia, please call Zach.’

A voice in the receptor replied. ‘Calling Zach in one, two, three….Zach is now being connected.’

A slim, dark, tall, and handsome figure appeared dressed only in his boxer appeared before her.

‘Hello Kyra, you look so delicious without the rest of your close. Want to invite me over?’

‘Ha, ha, ha…on one condition Zach, you get out of that funny-looking boxer of yours.’ She giggled and he smiled at her. The software would go live within ten hours and they would become millionaires for life.

‘Mia, please end this call.’ Kyra felt so special tonight, after all, the sweetest boy in Allystone Valley just took her to the stars.

‘Call with Zach has been terminated. Would you like to make another call? The voice asked her.

‘No, Mia. That will be all.’

‘Have a good night, Mia closing out.’ The wrist receptor went green and then died. She rushed over and hugged him and he kissed her, lifted her in his arms, and took her to bed.

  • How do we know when a story is free or when it's paid? I liked this one for instance. It has great romantic scenes without the extreme. Yet it stays hot. What about Mia? Who is she>

You should find a way to label stories free or premium. That way we can decide to start reading or not,
